💍 Wedding e-invites

Wedding e-invite for every function, on one link

Make a wedding invitation card for WhatsApp. Add the haldi, mehendi, sangeet, the wedding and the reception, each with its own time, venue and map. Guests open it in their phone's browser, reply for each function, and relatives abroad see their own time too. Guests need no app and no account.

What is a wedding e-invite?

A wedding e-invite is a wedding card you send as a link instead of on paper. On Kehdoo it opens as a small web page in your guest's phone browser: your names and photo at the top, then every function in order, each with its date, time, venue, a map button and a way to reply. It goes out on WhatsApp the way a photo of a shaadi card would, but it does things a photo can't. It shows each relative only the functions they're invited to, it counts who's coming, and it changes when the venue does.

Many families now send both: a printed card to elders and close family, and the e-invite to everyone else. The printed card is the keepsake. The e-invite is the one people actually open on the day to find the hall.

How to make a wedding invitation online, step by step

You need your names, the dates of the functions and the venues. Everything else can wait, and you can change any of it after you've sent the link. You sign in once, when you make the invite.

  1. Add your names and the first dayType both names and the date of the first function. The invite starts on the North Indian set: haldi, mehendi, sangeet, the wedding and the reception.
  2. Pick your functionsChoose the set closest to your family's: Marathi, South Indian, Bengali, Nikah, Sikh or Church wedding. Then rename, move, delete or add functions, up to eight.
  3. Fill in each functionThe date, the time to the minute, the venue and its address. Add a Google Maps link, a dress code and a short note if you want them.
  4. Choose the lookPick Marigold, Paithani, Kolam or another theme, change the colours, add a photo of the two of you, and add your names in Hindi or another script.
  5. Decide who repliesTurn RSVP on for the functions where you need numbers, write a line of welcome and who it's from, then tap Make the invite.
  6. Share itYou get one link for the whole invite and one for each function, ready for WhatsApp, and a private hosts' page to see who's coming.

Your hosts' page opens on the phone you made the invite on. Sign in later with Google or an email link to open it anywhere.

Every function on one invite

One invite holds the whole wedding. Each function gets its own card in the same design, its own date and time, venue, map button and add-to-calendar button, and its own link. So the whole invite can go to family while the sangeet link goes to the college friends group.

  1. Day 1, morning
    Haldi

At home, in shades of yellow. Often just family and close friends.

  2. Day 1, afternoon
    Mehendi

Henna and songs. Put "ladies only" or anything else in the note.

  3. Day 2, evening
    Sangeet

The big night in many families, and the one the friends group wants.

  4. Day 3, at the muhurat
    Wedding

Pheras, lavan, nikah or the church service, at the time your family gives you.

  5. Day 4, evening
    Reception

The largest party, and usually the longest guest list.

Not every family uses these names, so name each function the way yours does: Tilak, Mayra, Grah Shanti, Chooda, Nalangu. The starter sets cover a North Indian wedding, a Marathi lagna (Sakharpuda, Haldi, Lagna, reception), a South Indian wedding (Nichayathartham, Nalangu, Muhurtham, reception), a Bengali biye (Aiburobhat, Gaye Holud, Biye, Bou Bhaat), a nikah with mehndi and walima, a Sikh wedding with the Anand Karaj, and a church wedding.

Muhurat times, to the minute

Put the time your pandit or family elders give you, exactly. If the pheras are at 11:47 pm, the invite says 11:47 pm IST, not "around midnight". Kehdoo doesn't choose a muhurat or suggest dates. It shows what you type, in the venue's time zone. If the muhurat falls after midnight, put the next day's date, so calendars and the countdown get it right.

RSVP for each function

Guests reply to each function separately: yes or no, and how many people are coming. You see the numbers per function on your hosts' page, so the caterer for the sangeet and the one for the reception each get a real count, not a guess from phone calls.

  • Families reply together. Add "Sharma family (4)" to your guest list, and their link answers for up to four people.
  • Each guest sees only their functions. If the mehendi is only for family, the friends on your list never see it.
  • Sides and notes. Guests say whether they're from the bride's side, the groom's side or both, and can leave a note such as when they arrive.
  • A reply-by date. Set one, and a limit on how many people one reply can bring. Guests can change their answer from the same link until then.
  • The open link still works. Anyone you didn't put on the list can reply from the invite itself.

Themes and languages

Marigold, Paithani, Kolam, and your names in your own script

Each theme dresses the whole invite: the top of the page, every function's card and the preview WhatsApp shows. Then add the couple's names in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil or six more scripts, next to the English.

Pick yours
  • Shubh Vivah Marigold Genda phool strings on deep red, lit like a mandap
  • Together with their families White floral Soft blooms on ivory, quiet and classic
  • Shubh Mangal Saavdhan Paithani Purple silk, a peacock border and zari gold
  • Subha Muhurtham Kolam Banana-leaf green, temple gold and a kolam at the door
  • The wedding of Black tie Deep navy and gold, formal and timeless

Guest list and WhatsApp reminders

Paste your guest list the way it's written in your phone's notes, one name per line, and Kehdoo turns it into a list with a personal invite link for each name. Then you send each invite, and each reminder, from your own WhatsApp with one tap. The words are written in for you.

  • "Mausi, 98765 43210" works as it is. On kehdoo.in a 10-digit mobile number gets +91 added.
  • "(4)" after a name makes it a household with one link for four people. "#office" adds a tag.
  • Repeats are flagged before anything is saved, and you can filter by side, tag, function, or who hasn't replied.
  • The messages come in English and Hindi, and in your invite's second script if it has one. You can change them before each send.

Remind next walks through everyone who hasn't replied, one chat at a time: WhatsApp opens with the message ready, you press send, come back and tap Sent. Reminders cost nothing extra, and they come from a number your relatives already know. The guest list holds 25 names. More names are kept and wait for a bigger list, which is coming soon, so nobody is dropped.

A countdown for the family group

Every invite has a countdown page: the days, hours and minutes to the next function, counted in the venue's time, so the cousins in New Jersey and the family in Jaipur see the same number. It moves on to each function in turn, says "Happening now" during one, and after the last function it thanks everyone and shows the wishes.

You can post it on your WhatsApp status as a tall picture with the days left, and send a countdown reminder ("Just 10 days to go to the Haldi…") from the same WhatsApp queue as your invites.

A wish wall and the screen at the venue

Guests scan a QR code at the venue, type a wish and add a photo, and the wishes show one at a time on a TV or projector at the reception. Think of it as a digital guestbook that everyone can see. Nobody needs an app or an account.

  • Each wish waits for your OK before it reaches the screen. Switch to "show straight away" once you trust the room.
  • The screen keeps showing the wishes it has if the venue Wi-Fi drops, with a small "Reconnecting" dot and nothing else.
  • Print table cards: an A5 card with your names, "Scan to leave a wish" and the QR, ready for the print shop.
  • Up to 200 wishes, with one photo each. A keepsake book of every wish and voice notes are coming soon.

Friends who can't come can still send their love together: a group card goes round the college group as one link, everyone writes a line, and the couple opens it all at once.

Thank-you cards after the wedding

Make one thank-you card, and Kehdoo makes a copy for every guest with their own name on it. Add up to three photos from the wish wall, a line for one particular guest, and a "we missed you" version for anyone who couldn't come. Send each one on WhatsApp and see when it's been opened. It works for up to 25 guests. Stuck for words? These thank-you messages help.

Sending your e-invite on WhatsApp

Copy the invite's link or tap Share and pick a chat. WhatsApp shows a preview with your names, the theme and the dates, so it arrives looking like a card, not a bare link. Each function has its own link and preview. Pin the invite in the family group, so nobody scrolls for the venue on the day.

Looking for a wedding invitation video? Kehdoo doesn't make video files. The invite is a page that opens from the link, so there's no large file to download before anyone can read it. For your status, post the countdown picture.

For relatives abroad

Every time on the invite is the venue's time, labelled IST. A guest whose phone is set to another time zone also sees the same moment in their own time, such as "That's 8:30 am in London", under the function. The add-to-calendar button puts it in their calendar at the right hour, and the countdown counts the venue's days.

If one function happens abroad, such as a reception in Dubai, set that function's venue to the UAE and it shows in Dubai time, labelled GST. Relatives abroad reply the same way as everyone else, and you see their answers with the rest.

Who can see your invite

Only the people you send the link to. Wedding pages on Kehdoo are kept out of Google and other search engines and are never listed anywhere on the site. Anyone who has the link can open it, so share it the way you'd hand out a card.

  • Your guest list, phone numbers and replies are only on the hosts' page, never on the invite.
  • A guest's personal link, and the venue screen's link, each carry a private key.
  • If the hosts' link is forwarded too far, the person who made the invite can change it.
  • Up to ten co-hosts, such as the other family, can help run it. Only the person who made it can delete it.

Why not just a printed card?

The old way, and this one

A printed card, a PDF and a lot of phone calls

  • Printing and couriering cards to every city, weeks ahead
  • A PDF that is wrong the day the sangeet venue changes
  • Calling every family to count heads for each function
  • Relatives abroad working out IST in their heads
  • A heavy video file that won't open on an old phone

A Kehdoo e-invite

  • One link on WhatsApp, with a preview that looks like a card
  • Change a time or a venue and every guest sees it at once
  • Replies for each function, counted for you, families as one
  • Every time in IST, and in the guest's own time if they're abroad
  • Opens in any phone's browser: no app, no download, no sign-up

E-invite, PDF, video or printed card?

Each one has a place. A printed card is the one elders keep. A PDF or a photo is easy to forward but goes out of date the moment a venue changes. A video looks good on a status but doesn't tell you who's coming. An e-invite is the one that does the work.

Questions

What does a wedding e-invite cost?

Making an invite uses 5 credits, and 30 credits cost ₹499, enough for six invites. One invite covers the whole wedding: up to eight functions with RSVP for each, a guest list of 25 names, WhatsApp reminders, the countdown, the wish wall and thank-you cards, and changing anything later costs nothing more. It's a one-time payment: no UPI AutoPay, and nothing that renews by itself. You can build the whole invite and see it before you pay.

Can I send the invite on WhatsApp?

Yes, that's what it's made for. Copy the link or tap Share and pick a chat or a group. WhatsApp shows a preview with your names and the theme, and every function has its own link if you want to send only one of them.

Can I make separate invites for the haldi, mehendi and sangeet?

Yes. Every function on your invite has its own page, card and link, in the same design. Send the sangeet link to friends and the whole invite to family, and each guest on your list sees only the functions you invited them to.

Can one person reply for the whole family?

Yes. Add the family to your guest list as one name with a number, like "Sharma family (4)", and their link answers for up to four people at each function. Anyone without a personal link can reply from the invite with how many are coming.

Can I write the invite in Hindi or another Indian language?

You can add the couple's names in a second script next to the English: Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam or Urdu. The WhatsApp invite and reminder messages come in English, Hindi and your second script.

How will relatives abroad know the right time?

Every time shows in IST, the venue's time. A guest whose phone is set to another country also sees the same moment in their own time under it, and the calendar button adds it at the right hour for them.

Can I change the muhurat time or the venue after sending the invite?

Yes. Edit any function from your hosts' page and everyone who opens the link sees the new time or venue at once. The link itself never changes once you've shared it, so there's nothing new to send.

Do my guests need to download an app or sign up?

No. The invite opens in any phone's browser from the link, and replying, leaving a wish and scanning the QR at the venue all work without an account.

Will our wedding invite show up on Google?

No. Wedding pages are kept out of search engines and aren't listed anywhere on Kehdoo. Only people who have the link can open it, and your guest list and replies are only ever on the hosts' page.

Can the other family help manage the invite?

Yes. Invite up to ten co-hosts with a link. They can add guests, send invites and reminders, and approve wishes for the wall. Only the person who made the invite can delete it or change who the hosts are.

Will wedding vendors get our number or guest list?

No. We never sell your guest list, phone numbers or replies, and we never give them to caterers, decorators, photographers or anyone else. There's no vendor directory on Kehdoo and no ads on your invite, so nobody calls you because you made it here.
